A respected manufacturer based in Mildenhall, Suffolk, is expanding its team to meet increasing demand and is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their workshop. This hands-on role involves the creation, upkeep, and enhancement of production tooling within a well-equipped and supportive environment.
What's the pay & hours?
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (OTE) per annum, depending on experience. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.
Toolmaker Duties:
Manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain production tooling and fixtures
Work with traditional toolroom and workshop machinery
Support production by troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing improvements
Assist with tooling trials, testing, and fault finding
Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure tooling reliability and longevity
Maintain accurate documentation relating to tooling and maintenance activities
Work within ISO quality and regulatory standards
Attend occasional UK/international travel for project-related work
Participate in relevant training courses to support ongoing development
Ideally, You'll Have:
Proven experience working as a Toolmaker or within a toolroom environment
Experience using toolroom/workshop-based machinery
A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Toolmaking, or equivalent hands-on experience
A proactive, self-motivated attitude and strong teamwork skills
Confidence with written and verbal communication, including MS Office
