4-Day Guaranteed Work TA – Autism & Communication Support
Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full time, long term, 4-day GWA
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)
Love working with autistic pupils and want a consistent income? This SEND school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant through our 4-day Guaranteed Work Scheme. You’ll become one of our go-to team members for a specialist provision that prides itself on structure, calm, and nurturing relationships.
Your role will include:
1. 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with autism
2. Helping pupils navigate sensory needs and transitions
3. Supporting communication through visuals, PECS, TEACCH and structured routines
4. Providing a steady presence that pupils can depend on
5. Working with therapists, experienced teachers and the SEND leadership team
To join the Guaranteed Work Scheme you must:
6. Drive and be able to travel confidently to different SEND classes within the school
7. Complete full clearing checks before starting
8. Be patient, empathetic and consistent
9. Have some experience with ASC, SEMH or complex needs
10. Be happy committing to 4 days every week without exception

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
