Role Overview: As Deputy Manager, you'll play a crucial role in delivering excellent care and operational standards across three supported accommodation services. Collaborating closely with the Registered Service Manager, you will lead and develop a dedicated staff team, maintain regulatory compliance, and create environments where young people feel safe, heard, and supported to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
* Oversee day-to-day operations of your allocated services, ensuring robust safeguarding, health, and safety standards.
* Lead smooth and sensitive transitions for young people entering our services, ensuring their individual needs and risks are clearly communicated and met.
* Champion person-centred placement plans that prioritise the voice and participation of young people.
* Ensure staff training is current, comprehensive, and aligned with professional development plans.
* Regularly evaluate service delivery, implement improvements, and consistently meet operational deadlines (rotas, supervision, reviews, meetings).
* Represent our organisation professionally in multi-agency meetings, advocating passionately for young people's needs and rights.
Leadership and Staff Development:
* Provide supportive supervision and clear leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and best practice.
* Act as a role model, guiding your team to deliver exceptional, compassionate, and consistent care.
* Ensure adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
Young People's Support:
* Actively advocate for young people's needs, ensuring their voices shape service delivery and outcomes.
* Oversee and monitor individual pathway plans, promoting positive life outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and healthcare providers to enhance support provided.
* Foster positive working relationships directly with young people, promoting trust, respect, and meaningful engagement.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation, including care plans, risk assessments, and incident reports, directly contributing to young people's safety and wellbeing.
* Prepare effectively for Ofsted inspections, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement.
* Conduct regular audits, identifying areas for development and promptly implementing improvements.
Requirements:
* Proven ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with Young People and other professionals.
* Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), with a Level 5 qualification highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Ofsted standards.
* Successful supervisory or management experience in social care settings.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
