About The Role
Do you have an interest in the strategy, innovation, regulation, and market analytics behind the UK energy sector? If so, this could be the role for you!
The Strategy & Regulation function manages National Grid's business strategy, shapes innovative campaigns and builds relationships through dialogue with our key stakeholders across the energy sector. Our team works proactively to share with the world the role National Grid is playing in shaping a cleaner, greener future in the communities we serve. The team supports all the National Grid business units, giving you a chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders, and on multiple projects.
Throughout the 4-years, you will rotate around the Strategy & Regulation Function, completing placements, whilst also gaining a BSc (Hons) Professional Economist from the University of Kent. This will provide you exposure to different areas of the team, including Corporate Strategy, Sustainability, Market Analytics, Regulatory Strategy, and Innovation.
Tasks you may undertake include, but are not limited to:
* Developing and enhancing energy market dashboards
* Transforming and auditing data to provide the team with robust data sources
* Supporting with the production of reports, briefings and compelling communication materials for Managers, Directors, the Executive Committee and Board. This could include papers on Strategy, Sustainability, Regulation, or Innovation.
* Identifying and analysing strategic issues and key trends to shape the future activities of National Grid's businesses.
* Partnering with our operational business areas, to support them in achieving their regulatory of strategic objectives.
80% of the role will be spent working in National Grid, with the other 20% dedicated to studying your qualification. Studying will take place through interactive online learning, and occasional residentials on the educational provider's university campus in Canterbury, Kent.
Location
This role can be based in either Warwick or London.
About You
You're a problem-solver, with the ability to apply critical, creative and evidence-based thinking to develop innovative strategies to meet business needs and deliver long term value. Being self-aware and reflective, you are able to engage in a professional manner with a variety of stakeholders. Having the drive, flexibility and resilience, you always act with integrity and taking responsibility for your actions.
A keen interest in the energy sector is essential, although previous experience is not needed to be successful in this role.
Here is what you'll need or be working towards to apply:
* 3 A-Levels, at BBB or equivalent. Alternative qualifications are accepted, as long as they equate to 120 UCAS points.
* Achieved a B at GCSE Mathematics and English Language
