This is a 10PA locum appointment for a Consultant Medical Oncologist, with special interests in Lung and Gynaecological cancers This post will be available from June for a period of 6 months This post will deliver approximately 4 PAs supporting the Gynaecology team (Dr Hall, Dr Jackson and Dr Young), and 4 PAs supporting the Lung team (Dr Bhatnagar, Dr Franks, Dr Clarke, Dr Teo, Dr Dickinson, and Dr Sun). The remaining PAs will cover SPA and on call activities. There will be opportunities to contribute to MDT and departmental meetings. The post-holder will support a 1:14 on-call rota.
The post will be based at St James University Hospital The successful applicant should hold accreditation in Medical Oncology in the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director. Applicants should have established skills in medical oncology. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
