Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Bristol (site-based)
Role Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a major construction project in Bristol. Including Education, Arts, Leisure, Retail, Health, Residential, and Industrial. You will lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will also manage subcontractors, site teams, and contribute to key project planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage on-site operations from design stage through to practical completion and client handover.
* Ensure construction activities meet programme timelines, budgets, safety and quality standards.
* Lead and coordinate all site teams and subcontractors, conducting regular progress meetings.
* Liaise with senior project leadership and design teams to ensure timely release of information.
* Oversee site logistics, material requisitions, and subcontractor schedules.
* Fulfil role of Temporary Works Coordinator.
* Monitor workmanship, materials, and compliance with building regulations and specifications.
* Maintain comprehensive project records via company systems (Gateway).
* Ensure adherence to H&S, environmental and quality policies (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001).
* Support recruitment, mentoring and development of junior staff.
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, neighbours, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
* 5+ years' experience managing construction projects on site.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
* Experience in Health & Safety inspections and risk mitigation.
* Sound technical knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Gateway system desirable.
Qualifications
* HND/HNC/BTEC in Construction or related field.
* SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS/CSR Card.
* First Aid at Work and COSHH accreditation.
* Project management qualification or CIOB membership (desirable).
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
* Flexibility to travel or work away if required.
