Due to Hewland’s continued expansion and strong product portfolio across both motorsport and future automotive, we are looking to recruit a CNC Gear Cutter to support Production.

Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Operate and program gear cutting machines, including those with Fanuc and Siemens control panels.
2. Independently set up machines for various gear cutting operations.
3. Perform deburring of components to meet finishing requirements.
4. Conduct first-off inspections using Klingenberg gear checking machines to ensure dimensional accuracy.
5. Maintain tight tolerances throughout the production process.
6. Efficiently operate and monitor two machines when necessary.
7. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications relevant to gear cutting operations.
8. Select appropriate machines and develop parts based on gear cutting requirements.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to gear cutting processes.
10. Maintain detailed knowledge of gear cutting tools and their applications.
11. Liaising with production engineering, design and inspection as and when required.
12. Any additional tasks required.

Experience in the following areas will be required:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in gear cutting operations.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings related to gear design and specifications.
* In-depth understanding of gear cutting processes, part development, and machine/tool selection.
* Strong troubleshooting skills specific to gear cutting machinery and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to work accurately within tight tolerances.
