National Civil Engineering Contractor with a growing team and enviable footprint of projects across the country has a requirement for an experienced ESTIMATOR to join their pre‑construction team on a permanent basis.
Permanent • Location: West Lothian • Salary: £45,000‑£55,000 DOE • Ref: GR1473 • Gibson Recruitment Limited
Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a range of civil engineering works.
* Review and interpret tender documentation, specifications, and drawings.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and technical input.
* Produce Bills of Quantities and take‑offs from drawings.
* Identify and assess risks associated with project tenders.
* Support bid submissions and presentations to clients.
* Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure tender proposals are achievable and competitive.
Candidate Requirements
* Experienced as an Estimator in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction.
* Good understanding of civil engineering methods, materials, and rates.
* Proficient in the use of estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator who can work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Keen to grow within an ambitious business.
