We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/ Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a Care Home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Cook/ Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that every meal meets our high standards for the needs of our individuals we care for.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the care homes menu and recipes.
* Assist in the planning and execution of daily meal preparation tasks.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
* Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
* Clean and organize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use.
* Must have a understanding of special dietary requirements and special diets prescribed by health professionals.
* Must be willing to cover annual leave with other cooks are off.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a Care home or kitchen environment is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a rota basis.
