Job Title: Electrical Supervisor
Moray Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our Building Services team. This role involves managing and delivering a range of housing and property repairs and contracts, ensuring high standards of work and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Heating/Electrical Manager in managing electrical repairs and contracts.
* Oversee the performance of electrical teams, ensuring resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Liaise with external bodies such as NICEIC, SELECT, SJIB & SECTT, and carry out post audits of electrical work.
* Sign off electrical certification as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
* Inspect electrical installations for compliance with BS7671 and NICEIC standards.
* Drive continuous improvement and address areas of poor performance.
* Ensure excellent customer care and service delivery.
* Support health and safety policies and procedures within Building Services.
* Manage buildings, vehicles, and plant under electrical team control.
* Undertake training and staff development.
Candidate Profile:
* NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
* Previous supervisory/management experience in construction/maintenance.
* Understanding of building maintenance works.
* Minimum SVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Effective workforce deployment and contracts management skills.
* Good knowledge of building trades.
* Ability to travel within Moray using a car/van.
* Self-motivated with good judgment and initiative.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Leadership qualities in a customer-focused environment.
* Adaptability to unpredictable work situations.
* Willingness to work flexibly, including outside normal hours.
* Ability to work in various environments, including site and office settings.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Building Services team, supporting the maintenance and improvement of over 6,300 council houses and other facilities across Moray. We offer a comprehensive package, including training, PPE, and tools.
