To support continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Precast Engineer to join the expanding structural engineering team in Glasgow.
Role Overview As a Senior Structural Precast Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of major structural projects involving the design and detailing of precast concrete elements. Working closely with senior management and collaborating with our precast teams across the UK and Ireland, you will lead the technical, managerial, and commercial aspects of your projects. All project work will be delivered in line with the companys ISO-accredited procedures.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design and detailing of precast concrete components for major structural projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and Ireland.
Manage project delivery including technical output, programme, and commercial performance.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure all work adheres to relevant standards, best practice, and ISO quality procedures.
Engage directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver coordinated, buildable solutions.
Candidate Requirements Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Engineer (ICE).
Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 5 years design office experience, including at least 2 years specialising in precast concrete designideally with a precast manufacturer.
Strong written and spoken English (please indicate level).
Technical Expertise
Proficient in Tekla Structures.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, codes of practice, and precast construction methodology.
Excellent conceptual design skills, capable of producing robust, efficient engineering solutions.
Advanced IT capability, including experience with:
Tekla Structural Designer
Revit & AutoCAD
Structural analysis/design software: ROBOT, ETABS, SCIA, STRAP, TEDDS, etc.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to adopt and exploit new design software to enhance project delivery.
