About 89up
89up is the global agency for not for profits and good causes. Our mission is clear: to help our incredible clients tackle the world’s greatest challenges, with a focus on climate action, social justice, economic fairness and helping to deliver the UN sustainable development goals.
We work with organisations across the UK, Europe, US, and beyond. Across the agency we deliver public relations, creative campaigns, website development, advocacy, insights, and mobilisation.
Our insight-led approach builds award-winning campaigns that drive meaningful change.
About the role
Our Digital and Social Trainee Programme is the perfect entry point for someone looking to build a career in digital campaigning and communications, combining specific training with lots of on the job learning.
You don’t need to have every skill yet—we’ll teach you. What we’re looking for is curiosity, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude. In return, you’ll receive structured training and hands-on experience from day one, working on campaigns that genuinely make a difference.
You’ll join a dynamic and supportive team, learning the ropes across social media strategy, influencer engagement, content creation, and digital mobilisation. Expect to grow quickly and contribute meaningfully to projects with purpose.
What you’ll learn and do
This role gives you exposure and experience working on a broad range of projects with some of the world’s most innovative non-profits. Some of the areas you’ll work and train in are:
* Paid and organic social: You’ll learn how to build and run high-impact social campaigns across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X. From planning and scheduling organic content to setting up paid ads, you’ll get hands-on experience with the full campaign cycle - including analysing data and using it to shape decisions and improve performance.
* Influencer campaigns: Work directly with influencers and content creators to develop campaigns that resonate with audiences and elevate important issues. You’ll help identify the right voices, manage outreach, and shape briefs that support authentic, values-driven collaborations.
* Developing content: Collaborate with our in-house studio team to create compelling content—from developing ideas and writing scripts to shaping video and graphic assets.
* Insights and strategy: Get to grips with the tools of modern campaigning — audience research, polling, focus groups, and social listening — to uncover the narratives that inspire action. Learn how to track trends, decode public sentiment, and craft winning strategies that cut through the noise.
