Plant PLC Engineer - Peterborough
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and exceptional Plant PLC Engineer based in Peterborough.
You will be reporting to the Production Supervisor of this global company and working with the Plant Operations team.
The position is responsible for leading the smooth operation of control systems within the client's water-based units and plant equipment.
Secondary responsibilities include leading the commissioning and final testing of newly built mobile water assets.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Being a role model in driving and following EHS standards and culture within the Peterborough facility.
* Ensuring adherence to quality standards at all times.
* Modifying PLCs and fault finding in the regeneration plant, sites, and control systems for mobile water treatment equipment.
* Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, etc.) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Commissioning new and refurbished equipment.
* Collaborating with Assembly, Engineering, and the Plant Manager to identify and eliminate design-related issues.
* Following up on changes via MOC and documentation.
* Improving electrical consumption and plant efficiency to maximize cost savings.
* Providing electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Teams.
* Maintaining electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids, including lighting, instrumentation, pumps, motors, etc.
* Performing CE upgrades on existing equipment as required.
* Developing plant modifications and improvement projects.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
* Upholding work rules and processes.
* Participating in training and team meetings, and suggesting improvements.
* Supervising and directing on-site contractors when needed.
* Occasionally traveling to customer sites.
Requirements to carry out this role:
* Experience in industrial electrical works.
* Previous experience in industrial, assembly, or operational roles.
* Proven record of EHS and quality awareness.
* Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
* 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* NVQ Level 3 in electrical units.
* City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
* Training or experience in drawing software.
* Experience in project management.
* Passport to Safety or equivalent certification.
* Experience in the water treatment industry is an advantage.
The role offers a competitive salary between £38,000 and £45,000, depending on experience.
