Role Overview
The Chief Information Security Office (CISO) is a global team supporting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets across Barclays. The Principal Security Architect, a recognized cybersecurity expert, will collaborate with the CTO and CIOs to design security patterns and govern their application in system development. This role involves leading a team of architects to ensure security controls are integrated into solutions and infrastructure, including cloud environments, working closely with engineering and operations teams.
Purpose of the Role
Develop, implement, and manage the bank's cloud and security infrastructure, including security administration processes across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and analyze new security technologies like CASBs, DLP, and encryption solutions for cloud environments.
* Develop and implement security processes aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
* Implement and monitor cloud security solutions to detect threats and anomalies.
* Investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and apply corrective actions.
* Identify and evaluate emerging cloud security technologies to enhance security posture.
* Maintain documentation and reports for senior stakeholders on security architecture, policies, and incidents.
* Collaborate with cloud operations to manage IAM, network, and data security controls.
Director Expectations
* Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policies, and projects.
* Lead teams or projects, providing technical expertise and fostering a performance-driven culture.
* Advise senior management on security strategies and decisions.
* Manage resources, budgets, and policies for sub-functions.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and influence external regulatory and advocacy groups.
* Maintain awareness of industry practices and external market developments.
* Exercise strategic decision-making and influence stakeholders at senior levels.
* Represent the function as a spokesperson and key contact for clients and partners.
