The Role:
• To assist in the provision of an architectural service that is high quality, creative and effective, planning, designing and delivering successful projects safely, on time, on budget and with good client feedback.
What you’ll do:
• Support project teams by exercising a balance of design, construction technology and project management to create and deliver appropriate architecture that achieves the client’s aims, offers best value and is fit for purpose.
• Support the Project Lead in their leadership, coordination and inspiration of multi-disciplinary design teams to achieve the effective and smooth development of projects from inception to completion.
• Work efficiently and effectively to meet financial targets.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, contractors, users and other stakeholders to build and maintain positive and productive relationships and achieve successful outcomes.
• Develop an appropriate level of competence, technical and specialist knowledge.
• Develop an understanding of, and apply, statutory requirements, corporate initiatives and departmental Practice Notes, including construction health and safety.
• Support the development of design and construction best practice across Delivery, through your own commitment, initiative and example.
• Fully embrace HCC’s ‘One Organisation’ Vision, Values and Behaviours.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual with a minimum 2:1 degree in Architecture (RIBA Part I or equivalent), who demonstrates strong conceptual and design development skills. You should possess a solid understanding of statutory requirements within the building industry, including Health & Safety Regulations, Building Regulations, and Planning procedures. A sound technical knowledge of construction methods and materials is essential, along with excellent presentation and communication abilities. Strong organisational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively are key. Proficiency in IT, CAD, and visualisation tools is also required to support high-quality design delivery.
