The Opportunity
We are seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team working on advanced, real-world technology with clear operational impact. This is a hands-on role focused on the design, development, integration, and verification of complex electronic systems, supporting high-performance products operating in demanding environments.
You will be involved across the full electronics lifecycle, from requirements capture and architecture definition through schematic design, PCB development, validation, and compliance. Working closely with systems, software/firmware, and mechanical engineers, you will help deliver robust, production-ready electronic solutions that meet strict performance, quality, and regulatory standards.
This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys technical ownership, problem-solving, and seeing their designs progress from concept to deployed product.
Key Responsibilities
Electronics Design & Development – Design and develop electronic circuits from concept through to production.
System & Architecture Support – Contribute to system-level architecture discussions and electronics partitioning.
Verification & Compliance – Support validation and verification activities, including board bring-up and debugging.
Integration & Collaboration – Work closely with firmware/software engineers to support hardware–software integration.
Documentation & Process – Produce clear technical documentation including design specifications and test reports.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
* Proven experience designing electronic hardware for complex products
* Strong skills in schematic capture and electronics design using industry tools (e.g. Altium, Cadence, Mentor)
* Good understanding of the electronics development lifecycle
* Knowledge of areas such as:
* Power electronics and power distribution
* Digital electronics (MCUs, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces)
* Analogue design (sensors, amplifiers, precision interfaces)
* EMC-aware design techniques
* Experience supporting board bring-up, debugging, and validation
* Comfortable working with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc.)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in regulated, safety-critical, or high-reliability environments
* Exposure to system architecture or requirements-driven design
* Familiarity with embedded software or firmware (C/C++) and hardware–software integration
* Understanding of ISO9001 or similar structured engineering processes
* Experience supporting products through certification or qualification activities
What You’ll Get
* Opportunity to work on meaningful, real-world technology with visible impact
* Involvement across the full product lifecycle, not just isolated design tasks
* Collaboration with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines
* A technically engaging environment where engineering quality is valued
* Competitive salary and benefits package
* Long-term career development within a growing engineering organisation
