Electrical Controls System Engineer / Software Engineer Controls System

Contract duration: 6 months (Outside IR35)
Our Client an Engineering company are seeking a Electrical Controls System Engineer / Software Engineer Controls System for a contract position (Outside IR35) of 6 months in Chesterfield, UK.
Role
As a Controls System Engineer, you will be responsible for site installation, site retesting, site surveys, full integrated system testing, CFAT, SAT, and installation. You will have experience in system specification, design, development, and testing, along with hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA systems.
Main Responsibilities
As a Controls System Engineer you will be responsible for delivering agreed modules within a project, including PLC, SCADA, Testing, Networking, Documentation, and Hardware design.
You will ensure that projects meet technical and quality requirements, identify project opportunities and variations, and ensure adherence to company quality processes and procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
* Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
* A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a relevant discipline, or status as an Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration.
Experience of some or all of the following is desirable:
* As a Software Engineer specializing in Controls Systems, you will develop project modules, including PLC code modules, SCADA scripts, Mimics, and communication drivers.
* Additionally, you will develop O & M documentation, FDS, DDS, test specifications, and design testing methodologies.
* You will have experience in developing site work documentation, such as risk assessments, method statements, and site test documentation, and undertake observations, variations, reworks, and the packing and shipping of the system.
Important:
The successful candidate will be required to obtain SC clearance on commencement of the contract.
