Town Centre Support Officer
Job description
We are currently seeking a motivated, dedicated, and flexible individual to join our team as a Town Centre Support Officer.
This role involes being a proactive, organised and an enthusiastic individual to join our Regeneration & Economic Development team as a Town Centre Support Officer.
Our town centres play a vital role in supporting Neath Port Talbot local communities, businesses and visitors. Our team works collaboratively with a wide range of partners to deliver regeneration initiatives, events and projects that strengthen town centre vitality, increase footfall and improve public perception.
As a Town Centre Support Officer, you will contribute directly to the revitalisation of our town centres by supporting businesses, coordinating partnerships, delivering events and assisting with marketing and promotional activity. You will work closely with the Town Centres Manager, internal departments, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), stakeholders and local businesses to help create vibrant, welcoming town centres.
This permanent position although mainly based at The Quays. There is a requirement to work within the local Town Centres (Neath, Port Talbot, Pontardawe and Glynneath)
Your daily routine will include:
1. Undertaking regular town centre site visits and engaging with local businesses and internal officers
2. Working directly with town centre businesses, stakeholders and partner organisations to provide advice and support
3. Monitoring town centre performance and maintaining accurate records of visits, enquiries and activity
4. Coordinating and supporting Town Centre Partnership and stakeholder group meetings
5. Supporting the planning and delivery of town centre events and initiatives
6. Assisting with marketing, social media and digital content to promote town centres
(Owing to the nature of the role, some evening, weekend and bank holiday working will occasionally be required.)
Do you have:
7. Experience in marketing, communications, events management or retail/commercial environments
8. Experience of working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders
9. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
10. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
11. Good IT skills and confidence in producing reports and digital content
You will ideally have a degree in Business Management or a related field,
or substantial relevant experience that demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
