Calibration and fault finding on a wide range of plant and equipment.
Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital works across the hospital as directed by management, ensuring compliance with hospital safety standards and procedures
Main duties of the job
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, new work and repair of Electrical Plant & Equipment (including assistance on Mechanical plant where Electrical systems are in place):
Carry out maintenance of complex systems including Generators, LV Switchgear and Distribution, mains and submains, final circuits, Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, nurse call, some control wiring, building management systems, AHU fans, pumps, electrical catering equipment, single and three phase plant, equipment contained within the mortuary and theatres and other hospital fixed plant and equipment.
· Responsible for undertaking fixed electrical installations testing and general inspections
· To develop and maintain good working relationships with Clinicians, Departmental Heads, Risk Management, Statutory Regulators, External Consultants and Contractors.
· Undertake fault finding and maintenance of various types of plant and catering equipment such as heated trolleys, dishwashers and AHUs. You will be responsible for carrying various PPM tasks
· To ensure Team Communication is cascaded to all areas of the Estates Department.
· To assist the Development Team in the implementation of major services shutdowns and commissioning arrangements for new developments and in hand-over procedures for the engineering systems.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Attained City and Guilds Electrical Installation Pt 1 and 2 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
2. Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
3. Attained or working towards a technical qualification in a specialist area e.g. City and Guilds 239152 Inspection and Testing.
4. Attained City and Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition IET Regulations
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
5. Previous Experience as Maintenance Craftsman
6. In depth working knowledge of Engineering Systems and experience in maintenance and its repair.
7. Continuing Training Courses on H & S, Plant and Medical Equipment
8. Deal with Major incidents such as loss of electrical services to critical areas
Desirable criteria
9. Previous experience of working in the NHS or large complex building service installations (non domestic)
IT Skills
Essential criteria
10. Able to operate and use computer controlled systems such as Test Equipment, Fire Alarm Systems, Building Management systems and Computerised Maintenance Management system PDA,s
