About the Role
Assistant Team Manager – Adult Social Care (Mental Health team). The successful candidate will report to the Team Manager and receive a generous welcome bonus of £1,000 paid in the first month's salary.
Key Responsibilities
* Support team operations, including recruitment, retention and workload allocation.
* Provide ongoing supervision to maintain exceptional standards of casework, and offer guidance through the Team Manager for complex cases.
* Contribute to ensuring commissioned services are cost‑effective and engage in co‑production of service improvements with service users and family carers.
* Manage day‑to‑day functions of the Mental Health team as part of the Duty Manager rota, including acting as Safeguarding Manager for statutory safeguarding enquiries.
* Focus on hospital discharge tasks, support discharge workers, and manage long‑term complex case work and reviews.
* Effectively manage own time, meet tight deadlines and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
* Ensure the quality of work delivered by the team meets established standards.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
* Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (Master’s preferred) and registration with Social Work England.
* Extensive post‑qualification practice experience with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance.
* Experience caring for adults and/or children with learning disabilities or mental health needs.
* Strong leadership and managerial skills to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
