We want you to assess the compliance of a variety of classes of vehicles against the statutory standards on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport. You will also provide technical support and guidance online, face to face and by telephone to Vehicle Standards Assessors, other Specialist Vehicle Standards Assessors, managers, team leaders and testing facilities. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work independently and flexibly to provide high quality, value for money testing services within the national network. Assess the compliance of a variety of classes of vehicles against the statutory standards on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to: Inspecting and assessing of all vehicle types and schemes to ensure they comply with legislation as a technical expert, providing advice and clarification for DVSA colleagues to support accurate decision making throughout the network. Issuing and removing prohibition notices affecting the safe and continued use of vehicles presented for testing. Contributing and sharing specialist knowledge as Subject Matter Expert on telephone and online forums. Acting as a point of contact for testing facility providers on specialist tests, offering front line advice for queries and complaints, ensuring a high standard of service delivery. Collaborating with the deployment team to deliver testing services at varying testing facilities as needed in line with contract. Providing feedback to Testing Network Manager and Network Business Manager regarding any issues that impact on flexibility, quality or cost of service delivery. Contributing to local DVSA business continuity plans. Ensuring that DVSA's operating instructions, processes and testing policies are being followed are complied with by all parties.
