Job Description
The Mechanical Technician will provide mechanical and building services engineering maintenance to a client property. This will include fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation on the client HQ Office.
The emphasis is on providing a world class building services maintenance service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performs scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical equipment in accordance with plumbing codes, diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
2. Observes mechanical systems and fixtures in operation to detect failures or locate causes of malfunctions
3. Dismantle devices and removes defective parts. Inspects used parts and equipment for changes in calibration, dimensional requirements and manufacturer's specifications
4. Test and calibrates systems and equipment to ensure proper system operations using test equipment or precision measuring instruments
5. Lays out work assignments, determines methods, techniques and materials needed to effectively accomplish assignments
6. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company policies related to building operations and work safety
7. Take responsibility for work and actions to show care
8. Demonstrate honesty to show respect to colleagues, the client and work
9. Ensure to show entrepreneurship by taking corrective action where necessary
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
10. City & Guilds mechanical or equivalent
11. Commercial building maintenance experience in customer facing environment
12. Significant experience in providing mechanical building services maintenance to include fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing
13. Significant previous experience in providing reactive and PPM building services maintenance
14. Experience of working within FM or building services within commercial properties
15. Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements
16. Evidence Training and competence in managing High Risk Works (Mechanical)
