Multiskilled Joiner – Voids Team

First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has a fantastic opportunity for a Multiskilled Joiner to join our Property Care Voids Team.
This is a full time role (37 hours per week) where you will carry out joinery and multiskilled repairs to prepare empty homes for new tenants. Working across our housing stock and public buildings, you’ll help ensure properties are safe, well maintained and ready for people to move into.
The impact you’ll make
As part of the Voids team, you’ll play a key role in helping us turn properties around quickly and to a high standard, helping new customers move into homes they can feel proud of.
• Carry out joinery and multiskilled repairs in void properties, preparing homes for new tenants
• Complete repairs and refurbishment work efficiently to support fast turnaround of empty homes
• Deliver high quality workmanship, ensuring properties meet FCHO standards before re-letting
• Diagnose repair issues and carry out repairs effectively, aiming for first time completion wherever possible
• Work safely and follow health and safety legislation, risk assessments and organisational procedures
• Use your initiative to manage materials, equipment and tasks within a planned work schedule
• Work collaboratively with other trades and teams to ensure homes are ready for new customers
• Act as a positive ambassador for FCHO, demonstrating our values in the way you work
Our ideal candidate
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high quality work and enjoys seeing a property transformed and ready for a new customer.
You will:
• Hold a recognised joinery qualification (NVQ Level 2 minimum, Level 3 desirable)
• Have experience carrying out repairs and maintenance in housing properties, including voids
• Be a multiskilled operative, with experience supporting other trades such as plumbing and plastering
• Have strong fault finding and problem solving skills
• Understand health and safety legislation and safe systems of work
• Be organised and able to manage work within a planned repairs schedule
• Be confident working independently and using your initiative
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and other teams
• Demonstrate the values and behaviours that make FCHO a great place to work
