Role Overview
Our client is seeking a confident and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team at their Liverpool office. This dual-role position is crucial in supporting the delivery of complex and bespoke manufactured solutions for high-security and performance-critical environments. You will be involved in project cost planning, estimation, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
1. Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for bespoke door and barrier projects
2. Liaising with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure project requirements are fully understood and costed
3. Producing and managing bills of quantities, tender documents, and procurement schedules
4. Conducting risk and value management assessments
5. Analysing subcontractor quotations and negotiating contract terms
6. Managing interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts
7. Monitoring project budgets and advising on potential cost implications
8. Supporting the commercial team in pricing variations and managing change control
9. Maintaining detailed documentation and records of all commercial activities
10. Attending pre-tender and project review meetings with stakeholders
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within construction, manufacturing, or specialist fabrication sectors
* Strong understanding of commercial processes, cost control, and contract management
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Causeway, or similar)
* HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
* A proactive and team-oriented approach
