Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
1. Identify and generate new business opportunities via outbound calls, networking, and referrals
2. Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with growth targets
3. Develop relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders
4. Deliver tailored proposals and presentations to address client needs
5. Negotiate and close deals that deliver value for both client and company
6. Partner with marketing on lead generation and sales alignment
7. Maintain accurate CRM records for pipeline and activity tracking
8. Stay up to date on industry trends and client feedback to inform strategy
9. Represent the business at events to build brand visibility
10. Work with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery
Skills and Experience required of the Business Development Manager:
11. 3+ years’ experience in B2B sales or business development (full sales cycle)
12. Background in the energy sector, ideally with a consultancy or brokerage
13. Proven experience selling energy services (procurement, validation, compliance, efficiency)
14. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
15. Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently
16. Strong proposal writing and strategic sales planning abilities
17. Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
18. Organised, commercially aware, and solution-focused
19. Full UK driving licence required
