Our client is an award-winning defendant firm who are recruiting for their Healthcare team in Birmingham. They are looking for a NQ-3 PQE solicitor and a 4+ PQE solicitor with previous NHS Resolution experience to join on a hybrid basis. The firm may consider strong defendant EL/PL solicitors.
Your new role
This Healthcare Solicitor role will see you:
1. Manage a caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims from inception to resolution.
2. Advise NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical malpractice insurers on clinical negligence and EL/PL claims.
3. Provide clear, strategic legal advice on liability, quantum, and procedural aspects of claims.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
5. Liaise effectively with NHS Resolution, healthcare professionals, and expert witnesses to progress cases.
6. Prepare case strategies, including risk assessments and cost management plans, aligned with NHS Resolution protocols.
7. Ensure compliance with Civil Procedure Rules and relevant pre-action protocols throughout litigation.
8. Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement meetings, undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
