Project Engineer – Burton-on-Trent - Permanent Positon

What’s the Opportunity?
We’re recruiting for a Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering team based in Burton-on-Trent. This role will see you managing projects from contract award to completion, coordinating between internal departments and external clients. It’s a varied and hands-on role that includes technical, administrative, and logistical responsibilities across the full project lifecycle.
Salary: Circa £45,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week
Flexible start times available (typical start around 8:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the main point of contact for clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
*
Liaise with Sales and Estimating teams at contract award stage
*
Produce, control, and issue all project documentation
*
Manage procurement of materials, consumables, and subcontract services
*
Monitor and control project costs and schedules
*
Work with production teams on planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
*
Coordinate inspection activities and client visits
*
Compile and issue final documentation and data dossiers
*
Organise shipping and liaise with freight forwarders
*
Provide after-sales technical support
*
Carry out general project administration duties
Requirements:
*
Proven experience in an engineering project delivery role
*
Understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication/welding preferred)
*
Strong organisational and communication skills
*
Confident liaising with internal departments and external clients
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Comfortable with documentation control and cost monitoring
*
Engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND or degree) desirable
*
Right to work permanently in the UK
