Job overview We are seeking to recruit a Ward Clerk for a part time position. You will be the welcoming face of the unit, therefore we are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual, who demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to have an ability to be flexible in your role and duties due to the dynamic nature of the ward. Ensure the provision of effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care. Detailed job description and main responsibilities To welcome patients, relatives and carers on arrival to the ward. Ensure patient details are correct on our IT systems and complete admission details on arrival To deal with enquiries and to pass information to the appropriate staff. To provide a courteous, responsive and effective point of contact (in person and by telephone) for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, both internal and external to the Trust. To keep ward diary and excel spreadsheets up to date. Patients and Relatives Promote a customer focused approach to receive patients and visitors to the ward. Distribute post to patients on the ward.
