Sheridan Maine are excited to be partnering with a specialist business based in the Portsmouth area, to recruit an Accounts Assistant. Our client is seeking someone with all-round accounting knowledge to join their small but expanding team. As the Accounts Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
* Bank reconciliations with multiple accounts
* Managing CIS returns, reconciliations and submissions to the HMRC
* Posting bank payments
* Managing credit control and receivables ledgers
* Dealing with invoice related queries
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Processing purchase ledger invoices
* Raising sales ledger invoices
* Processing of staff expenses and credit cards
* Preparing timesheet information and hours to send to the external payroll team
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Proven working experience in accounting and finance
* Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and time management skills
* Motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment
* The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Experience in the Construction would be desirable, but is not essential
