The Natural Pet Treat Company Limited has been manufacturing pet food and treats for over 25 years. With the recent expansion of our new state-of-the-art greenfield cannery in Drury, we are seeking experienced Machine Operators. As part of a small, key startup team, you will operate across various stations, including manual handling of raw materials. You should also demonstrate initiative and drive to progress into team leader roles as the factory expands.
Job Responsibilities
1. Operate various processing and packaging machines, including fillers, seamers, retorts, labelling machines, robotic palletisers, and automated handling systems.
2. Set up machines for production runs, ensuring all settings meet product specifications and safety standards.
3. Regularly inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform minor repairs or adjustments as necessary.
4. Monitor the production line for issues such as product quality concerns or machinery malfunctions, and report problems to supervisors immediately.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, following all safety and hygiene regulations.
6. Record production data, including output quantity, downtime, and product quality metrics, on manual and computer-based systems.
7. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, safety, and quality assurance.
8. Assist with training new machine operators and support team members as needed.
9. Participate in routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
10. Manually batch and weigh raw materials.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machinery operation or related fields is a plus.
2. Previous experience as a machine operator, preferably in food production or processing, especially in a cannery environment.
3. Understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
4. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
6. Good communication skills and attention to detail.

1. Job start in late April / early May 2025.
2. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
