About the role
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) are seeking a Business Design Lead contractor until 31 March 2026 to join their transformation programme and help shape the future of case management. This role is central to their move towards a more targeted, risk-based, and intelligence-led approach to regulation—one that focuses on understanding stakeholder behaviours, identifying patterns of risk, and intervening proportionately.Case Management is a vital and central tool in recognising and influencing those behaviours and patterns, and it must evolve to support this shift. Looking ahead, a significant portion of TPR’s casework will involve the prudential regulation of very large multi-employer pension schemes, which will require multiple expert points of contact across various TPR teams, covering a wide range of themes and activities.
As Business Design Lead, you will be responsible for designing the ‘Streamlining Case Management’ initiative. You’ll collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior sponsors, operational teams, and our Digital, Technology and Data teams. Your work will involve defining the keyponents of an end-to-end case lifecycle approach such as data definitions, workflows, and roles/permissions, ensuring they are aligned with our regulatory objectives and support our prudential regulatory practice.The role criteria
Strategic Process Design & Case Management: Proven experience in designing and improving business processes and case management strategies withinplex organisations. Able to align systems such as Dynamics 365 with organisational goals without requiring deep technical expertise.
Stakeholder Engagement &munication: Skilled in engaging a wide range of stakeholders through workshops, interviews, and collaborative working. Strongmunication and relationship-building abilities across policy, operations, and enforcement functions.
Prudential Regulation: An understanding of Regulatory frameworks will be beneficial.
Data & Insight Awareness: Understanding of how case management data can be structured and leveraged to generate insights, support risk identification, and enhance service delivery.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyseplex issues, challenge legacy processes, and design effective, user-centred solutions. Proficient in developing automated workflows that improve efficiency andpliance.
Collaborative Implementation:fortable working closely with platform teams to implement and test new workflows, while providing guidance to internal teams and engaging with external partners and regulatory bodies as needed.The teamYou’ll join a dynamic, cross-functional team at the heart of TPR’s transformation, bringing together expertise from our Regulatory, Digital, Data, and Technology areas.
