Overview
Join to apply for the SEND Teaching Assistant role at Leader Education. This role is based at a mainstream primary school near Amble, catering for children aged 2 to 11 years old. The position involves 1:1 support with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The ideal candidate will have some experience working with SEND children and a genuine interest and passion for education.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 11:00am to 3:00pm and the role is long-term following a successful trial.
Responsibilities
* 1:1 support for children in the EYFS to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
* Support pupils with SEND to access learning opportunities and participate in school life
Requirements
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
* A compassionate, understanding personality that values inclusivity and respect
* Some experience supporting students with SEND in an education setting is desirable
* An understanding of safeguarding and the well-being of children
