Following an internal promotion, we have a vacancy for an experienced Commodity Manager. Reporting to the Group Strategic Sourcing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and refining global supply chain strategies for assigned commodities to deliver industry-leading supplier quality, product/service delivery, customer service levels, total cost, and cash-flow performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the execution of a global supply chain strategy for assigned commodities supporting Crane's objectives for cost reduction, supplier OTD and lead-times, quality, and inventory reduction. This involves rationalizing the supply base, sourcing from low-cost sources, leveraging spend across business units, and negotiating Long-Term Supplier Agreements.
* Obtain competitive bids, analyze costs, and negotiate contracts based on total costs, considering financial risks, quality, and delivery capabilities.
* Maintain data integrity within Zycus.
* Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, revise strategies, and lead exit projects for poor performers.
* Conduct Business Reviews with key suppliers to assess quality, delivery, cost, and strategic alignment.
* Participate and lead Kaizen events to eliminate waste, improve flow, and achieve breakthroughs in growth, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Applicants must have a degree in engineering, technical, or business management discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in a global Supply Chain role. Proven experience in supplier performance management, analytical and decision-making skills, and a passion for achieving high-quality outcomes are essential. The candidate should also demonstrate self-improvement and professional growth.
