Job Description
We are recruiting for Survey Assistants to join the Planning and Economy Service to play an important role in surveying, data gathering, mapping, and analysis. This role involves fieldwork to update Aberdeenshire Council's Facilities Monitor, a biannual project tracking changes in service provision across settlements in Aberdeenshire. The data collected supports planning and decision-making, including the Local Development Plan.
The role suits motivated and enthusiastic individuals and offers the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities and projects across Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will receive support and gain insight into the workings of a planning authority, including the practical implementation of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019, along with valuable planning experience.
You will work alongside council officers, supporting initiatives that positively impact communities and align with our ambitions for the area. Aberdeenshire Council is a friendly, forward-thinking organization that values teamwork, flexibility, and positive communication.
This position is temporary, with a duration of up to 3 months and hours up to 30 hours per week.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.
The position is fixed-term, ending no later than 19 September 2025.
