Role Overview
Due to a recent promotion, we are looking for a new Graduate Trainee to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take your first steps into a career in Wealth Management.
As a member of the Wealth Administration Department, the role for the first 12 months will be to support and assist the Wealth Managers and the Technical team by liaising with providers and clients, and to build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients with a high standard of service.
During this time, you will be expected to pass the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) Level 4 or similar qualification. This base level of work experience and professional qualifications will not only give you a better understanding of the different aspects of the organisation, but also allow us to tailor a more focused development plan for your second year, during which you will start your studying towards Chartered Status with the CII.
General Duties
The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring client files are kept up to date, both electronic and paper files.
* Sending Authority letters to providers and following up on this to ensure we have information on client's policies, summarising the information in a succinct and accurate manner for the advisers to review.
* Liaising with providers on new business/activity updates which will then be communicated to the client via telephone or email as required.
* General admin duties including printing, scanning, filing and sending letters to clients and providers.
* Greeting clients in a friendly and polite manner, providing refreshments and ensuring they feel welcome at OCM.
* Create valuations and review letters in preparation for review meetings.
* Ensuring the Customer Relationship Management System (Intelligent Office) is kept up to date including activities for clients and client information.
Competencies & Qualifications
Customer Focus – The client is the top priority at all times and the focus is to ensure all client work and contact is handled with a sense of urgency and a courteous manner is maintained with clients at all times. Clients must have a response to all communications the same day, even if it is a holding communication to set their expectations.
Quality – Driven individual, able to work well as part of a team and in high pressure situations. A genuine interest in working in the financial services industry, preferably in the Financial Advice sector. The ability to learn quickly and on the job.
Communication – Able to communicate with colleagues, providers and clients alike, in a confident and professional manner.
IT Skills – the employee has at least a basic competence at all Microsoft Office software and within 3 months of starting, must have a base level of competence in other software required for the role including our back-office system.
Qualifications Required – A good basic level of general education. Should also hold a PPE, Accounting & Finance, Business Studies or Economics degree ideally 2:1 or above.
Qualifications to be Taken – Expected to take Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) Level 4 in the first year, then progress to other industry exams.
Experience Required – No previous experience required, but experience in a clerical role would be desirable.
Salary – Staring salary of £24,000 pa. This will increase in accordance with the salary matrix for the successful completion of exams, as well as being signed off as competent on the tasks of the role. Once all exams have been successfully completed and all tasks have been signed off the salary will increase to £28,000pa.
