Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in plastics manufacturing or packaging manufacturing? We’re recruiting for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support quality assurance in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
About the Role as a Quality Engineer:
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material intake through manufacturing and finishing. You’ll work closely with production teams, operators and management to monitor and improve quality standards, reduce scrap, and ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee quality control processes for manufacturing lines
* Monitor production runs and conduct in-process inspections
* Ensure products meet required specifications (thickness, strength, clarity, etc.)
* Investigate root causes of defects and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
* Perform statistical analysis and reporting on production quality metrics
* Maintain and update quality documentation, inspection plans, and SOPs
* Train and support operators in quality awareness and best practices
* Liaise with customers on quality issues and audits, as required
* Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality
Requirements
* Experience in a Quality Engineering role within plastics manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of quality tools and techniques (8D, RCA, FMEA, SPC, etc.)
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards
* Good understanding of film properties (gauge, tensile strength, clarity, etc.)
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) a plus
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
* Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Quality, or a related field
* Experience dealing with customer complaints and technical queries
* Background in FMCG or packaging industry
