Julian House is a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We run several projects and every year we help thousands of people out of homelessness, into employment, away from domestic abuse, and more.

Job Role and Details

Job Role: Volunteer Coordinator

Salary: £22400 per year (FTE £28000)

Hours: 30 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: South West (Office Location to be agreed) Expectation to travel to offices and events across the South West as needed.

About The Role

In this new role, you’ll oversee the entire volunteer journey from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing support and recognition, ensuring every volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience.

You’ll be the central point of contact for volunteers, work closely with managers to build capacity, and help shape our volunteering strategy. If you have experience managing volunteers, strong communication skills, and a drive to champion community involvement, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

* You'll manage the end-to-end process of volunteer lifecycle from attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, induction, training, ongoing support, and recognition.
* You'll build relationship with our volunteer manager, working to identify and scope volunteer roles, advising on availability and suitability of volunteers for specific tasks or projects.
* Get out and about within the community and build relationships with community networks, education settings and other relevant organisations to broaden the volunteer pool.
* Work with the HR Manager using the people strategy to set the direction for volunteering at Julian House, working closely with all departments
* Organise volunteer events, recognition initiatives, and networking opportunities.

Note: Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive; the post holder may be required to undertake other duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Experience in managing the volunteer lifecycle.
* Proven ability to review and improve processes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
