A well-established specialist solutions provider based near Chorleywood is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance function on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to supporting end-to-end accounts payable processes.
The Role:
This varied position supports the finance team by ensuring the efficient management of supplier transactions, invoice processing, and payment cycles.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Processing supplier invoices, including scanning, approval workflow, and accurate system entry
Reconciling supplier statements and following up on missing or delayed invoices
Managing weekly and monthly payment runs
Handling supplier and internal queries by phone and email
Monitoring utility contracts to ensure competitive renewal rates
Coding and entering ad hoc invoices into the accounts system
Managing company credit card transactions, including documentation collection and system posting
Supporting SECR reporting through ongoing carbon audit data collation
Managing petty cash records, coding expenditure and reconciling balances at month-end
Monitoring and following up on outstanding payments on the debtor ledger
Assisting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks and project support
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
At least 5 years of accounts payable experience
Familiarity with group accounting procedures
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
A proactive, positive attitude and flexible working style
A professional and presentable manner
In Return, You’ll Receive:
A salary between £32,000 – £35,000, depending on experience
