MIG Welder / Fabricator Monday Friday 8AM - 5PM | 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Salary £33,000 per annum Our client, a well-established and respected engineering business, is seeking an experienced Mild Steel MIG Welder / Fabricator to join their team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to work on a variety of interesting projects within a supportive and fast-paced workshop environment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on fabricator with a strong eye for detail, a commitment to high-quality workmanship, and the ability to thrive as part of a close-knit team. Key Responsibilities: Carry out high-quality MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components Read and interpret technical drawings, including CAD and Inventor designs Safely operate a range of workshop machinery and tools, including pillar drills, mag drills, bandsaws, angle grinders, ironworkers, and guillotines Accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials in line with specifications Perform quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment Support general workshop upkeep and housekeeping Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet production deadlines Assist with assembly tasks, including bolting and painting Load and unload steelwork for deliveries to and from the yard Requirements: Proven experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication Ability to confidently read and interpret CAD and Inventor drawings Strong competence in using workshop tools and machinery Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach Desirable: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field Whats on Offer: Competitive salary, dependent on experience Opportunity to work on varied and engaging projects Supportive and collaborative team environment Stable 18-month contract with a reputable employer If youre a motivated and skilled fabricator looking for your next contract opportunity, we would be keen to hear from you, apply today to discuss with Gabriella Saunders from ACS Staffing Solutions!
