Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various structures. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with precision tools and materials. The successful applicant will contribute to the aesthetic and functional aspects of buildings while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Duties
* Install glass panels in windows, doors, and other structures according to specifications.
* Measure and cut glass using hand tools and power tools.
* Read and interpret schematics to determine the correct installation procedures.
* Repair or replace broken glass in existing installations.
* Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations and building codes.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and electricians, to complete projects efficiently.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
* Assist in the preparation of surfaces for glazing, which may include plastering or painting as required.
* Provide support in roofing projects that involve glass installations.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or familiarity with the following skills:
* Proficient use of power tools and hand tools relevant to glazing tasks.
* Ability to read schematics accurately for effective installation processes.
* Experience in electrical work is advantageous but not essential.
* Background knowledge in carpentry is beneficial for integrated projects.
