We’re looking to recruit a Head of Risk and Compliance who will lead the Compliance Department to manage and deliver the Firm’s Compliance and Risk management processes to meet the regulatory and statutory requirements across all jurisdictions in which the Firm operates.

Key Requirements:
* Department leadership – Lead the Compliance Department to manage and deliver the Firm’s Compliance and Risk management processes, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance across all jurisdictions. Manage the Department budget.
* Compliance advice and guidance – Support EXCO, the COLP, and the COFA in delivering key Compliance and Risk Management processes. Lead the delivery of these processes, resolve issues, and identify areas for improvement.
* Relationship Management – Build relationships virtually (supporting multiple offices) and in person at all levels to maximize effectiveness and uphold the Compliance Department’s reputation.
* Work Planning – Oversee work planning to ensure Compliance and Risk Management projects are scheduled and completed as planned.
* Compliance Policies – Maintain an up-to-date suite of Compliance policies for each jurisdiction. Oversee timely reviews and updates of all Firm policies.
* Internal and external stakeholders and Compliance reviews – Liaise with stakeholders and oversee reviews of processes across the Firm.
* Solution development – Develop and oversee implementation of solutions to Compliance and Risk issues.
* Strategic Projects – Support EXCO with strategic initiatives, including the ongoing delivery of ISO27001.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
* Compliance or risk qualification and/or proven experience.
* Knowledge of Regulatory requirements in England & Wales is essential.
* Knowledge of Regulatory requirements in Ireland, Scotland, Ontario, and Dubai is desirable.
* Knowledge of ISO27001 is desirable.
Experience:
* Proven track record in a senior risk and compliance role within an E&W law firm or similar organization.
* Interest in developing Compliance, Risk Management, and regulatory knowledge.
* Commercial awareness with experience providing pragmatic, timely solutions.
* Experience in decision-making and advising on risk and compliance issues.
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills:
* Persuasive, influential, and proactive attitude.
* Well organized with effective prioritization skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills to gain stakeholder confidence.
* Ability to challenge and hold senior staff accountable.
* Collaborative team player who leads by example.
