Join Wrexham AFC - because history doesn’t write itself The Role The General Manager for Women’s Football is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, governance, and operational management of the Women’s Football programme. Working closely with the Director of Women’s Football, the role ensures the programme operates to the highest standards of football governance, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. The role provides senior operational leadership across the Women’s Football programme, supporting the delivery of strategic objectives while ensuring alignment between football operations, staffing structures, competition requirements, and organisational standards. Main Responsibilities: Programme Leadership Lead the day-to-day operational management of the Women’s Football programme. Ensure alignment across First Team, Academi, and development operations. Support the implementation of the strategic vision set by the Director of Women’s Football. Develop operational structures that support programme delivery and future growth. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with FAW, league, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements. Lead operational governance including licensing and regulatory reporting. Maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, and duty of care. Act as the operational contact for league and governing body administration. Football Operations Oversee planning for training, matchdays, travel, and team logistics. Ensure professional standards across all football environments. Work closely with coaching and performance staff to support football delivery. Support the development of efficient operational systems and communication processes. Staff Leadership & Management Provide leadership and support to operational and administrative staff. Create clear responsibilities and accountability structures. Promote collaboration across football, operations, and support services. Strategic Delivery Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and delivery frameworks. Monitor operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Support the continued professionalisation of the Women’s Football programme. Stakeholder & External Relations Build strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders. Represent the Women’s Football programme professionally. Support alignment with wider club objectives. About you You'll have: Essential Experience in football operations, sports administration, or a similar leadership role. Experience managing complex operational programmes and stakeholders. Strong understanding of football governance and regulatory structures. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills. Desirable Experience within FAW/Adran Premier or WSL1 or 2 environments. Understanding of licensing, safeguarding, and compliance frameworks. Experience supporting strategic planning and programme development.
