Job Summary
Working as a Nutritionist on ABL's specialist and targeted weight management programmes for ABL's central online weight management service, you will support, motivate, and advise adults and/or families who are currently overweight or obese. You will be passionate about helping individuals initiate and sustain life-changing processes for permanent weight loss and maintenance.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the ABL Health team, you will deliver adult and family weight management programmes through a combination of one-to-one and group sessions, both in the community and via digital platforms such as Zoom or phone appointments. You will lead multidisciplinary assessments in collaboration with GPs and psychotherapists to develop tailored, person-centred care plans. Using evidence-based approaches, you will educate clients on nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change, applying motivational interviewing and positive psychology techniques.
You will monitor progress through regular consultations and data tracking using Microsoft Excel, support referrals to Tier 4 bariatric services where appropriate, co-produce engaging session materials, and deliver specialised nutrition content like Low Carb or Time Restricted Eating pathways. You will also run pharmacological groups such as Orlistat and Saxenda, promote services via community events and social media, contribute case studies for reporting, support staff training, and maintain detailed records in line with ABL Health policies. Managing your workload efficiently, engaging in continuous professional development, and participating in team meetings and service improvements are essential.
