Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for the people of Hull?
Are you an occupational therapist looking for a new challenge as a Senior Occupational Therapist? Join our evolving Occupational Therapy team. We are seeking those working at, or ready to step into, a senior role.
We offer many professional development opportunities to broaden your experience across Adult Social Care. We will support and help you enhance your leadership skills and clinical expertise, and you'll have opportunities to engage with our research partnership with the Curiosity Partnership.
If you are a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration, enthusiastic, and motivated, then this is an exciting opportunity for you.
In Hull, Occupational Therapy is a vital part of Adult Social Care, helping individuals maintain independence and live fully in their own homes. We have strong collaborations with multidisciplinary teams across social care and health, including the NHS, allowing us to offer exceptional care, support, and career development opportunities.
The role of a Specialist Occupational Therapist includes supporting the understanding and application of trauma-informed approaches, defining Hull as a trauma-informed city, and applying principles of rights-based, inclusive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and non-discriminatory practices. You will utilize solution-focused conversations and collaborate with individuals to set goals during assessments, and may contribute to or lead statutory assessments under the Care Act 2014.
As a valued leader, you will supervise and oversee other qualified Occupational Therapy staff and assistants, manage a complex caseload, and contribute to service development, policy, and integration of OT within wider social care.
Your specialist skills will be applied in areas such as:
* Functional assessment
* Intervention planning to increase independence and reduce care needs
* Provision of specialised equipment and major adaptations
* Specialised moving and handling
* Cognitive assessment
* Trauma-informed care
* Assessment of complex housing needs
* Capacity assessment and decision-making
You will work with diverse caseloads, including:
* Complex neurological conditions
* Offenders in prison and the community
* Homelessness
* Hoarding
* Recovery from illness/injury
* Learning difficulties and autism
* Carers
We offer flexible working arrangements, including full or part-time hours, 7- or 5-day schedules, and possible term-time-only work by negotiation. Weekend work is on a rota basis with days off during the week.
This position includes a market rate pay supplement exceeding the top of the substantive grade, subject to annual review and market conditions.
