We are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our busy independent garage in Chatham, Kent. This is a long-term career opportunity for a skilled Automotive Technician with strong experience in diagnostics, servicing, mechanical repairs, and MOT preparation.

Salary & Benefits
* £32,000 – £45,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
* OTE £50,000+ with workshop bonus & overtime
* 20 days annual leave
* Monday to Friday only – 4:30pm finish

Key Responsibilities – Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic
* Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
* Perform engine diagnostics and electrical fault finding
* Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and complete safety inspections
* Conduct road tests after repairs and servicing
* Carry out engine remapping and performance upgrades
* Complete bodywork repairs where required
* Maintain accurate job cards and service records
* Work collaboratively with service advisors and workshop team
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, or Automotive Technician
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Experience with MOT preparation and safety inspections
* Knowledge of petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles
* Experience using modern diagnostic equipment
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* High attention to detail and quality workmanship
* Full UK Driving Licence preferred
