Medical Nurse Practitioner - Older People
We are recruiting a motivated Medical Nurse Practitioner (MNP) to work within the supportive, forward‑thinking team at the Royal United Hospital Bath (RUH). You will work closely with consultants, ACPs, nursing and therapy colleagues in the emergency department (ED) and the front door, and core wards delivering multi‑disciplinary, patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Hold responsibility for your own caseload and provide high‑standard assessment, diagnosis and planning for frailty patients across the following settings:
o Frailty assessment and intervention in the ED and Older Person’s Rapid Assessment Area (OPRAA)
o The Older Person’s Assessment Unit (OPAU) and Older Person’s Unit Short Stay (OPUSS) – a short‑stay, older people’s inpatient ward for less than 72 hours
o Core wards – Combe and Waterhouse
* Provide clinical support, teaching and education to colleagues and families
* Support future planning and management of frail patients
* Represent MNPs and work with the MDT to support service improvement and best practice
Qualifications
* BSc or MSc in Nursing
* Experience working with older people and frailty (preferred)
* Strong communication and teaching skills
