Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Trainee ANP) – Specialist Children’s Services

Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
This full‑time trainee ANP role is based within the East Renfrewshire CAMHS team. The successful candidate will undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice over a two‑to‑three year period and demonstrate all required competencies for the role. Once fully qualified, the trainee will progress to a Band 7 position.
As a clinical leader, you will autonomously assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe for patients with multi‑dimensional problems, including admitting, discharging and referring patients as appropriate. You will manage the complete clinical care of patients, utilise expert knowledge, and support multidisciplinary teams within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The role is aligned with Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health and Safety legislation.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment, diagnosis and management of complex child and adolescent mental health conditions.
* Prescribe medication and manage prescribing authority in accordance with national standards.
* Refer, admit and discharge patients within appropriate clinical areas.
* Develop and maintain clinical care plans and multidisciplinary case reviews.
* Engage with families and carers to support child and adolescent wellbeing.
Qualifications
* First‑level Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN / RNLD) with current NMC registration.
* Substantial post‑registration training and experience in child and adolescent mental health.
* Band 7 ANP must hold the relevant qualifications.
* Demonstrated knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
