Job Description


3 months contract with a local authority

Summary
* The Family Support Worker / Early Help Practitioner is a pivotal role within a local authority, contracted for 3 months. This position is dedicated to delivering high-quality, child-focused early help interventions to children, young people, and families. The primary aim is to provide timely, tailored support to prevent the escalation of issues to statutory services.
Responsibilities
* Complete comprehensive whole-family assessments using the organisation’s assessment and planning framework.
* Develop high-quality SMART plans in collaboration with children, young people, and families.
* Identify strengths, needs, risks, and desired outcomes for each family.
* Ensure the child’s voice and best interests remain central to all planning and decision-making.
Requirements
* Experience:
o Providing support to children, young people, and families with complex or emerging needs.
o Conducting assessments and delivering targeted family interventions.
o Coordinating multi-agency support and partnership working.
o Keeping accurate case records and working within safeguarding frameworks.
* Qualifications:
o Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Social Care, Youth Work, Education, Health, or a related field.
o Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 36 hours per week
* Location: High Street, Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, KT1 1EU, United Kingdom
* 2 days WFH, 3 Days onsite
* The role requires an enhanced DBS.
* Bi-weekly payment schedule
