Your Role
As a Radar Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will:
* Ensure adherence to the Product Safety Framework and relevant business policies.
* Provide guidance and support to technical authorities within the Radar Engineering teams on product safety aspects.
* Conduct incident investigations and manage data recording and corrective action systems.
* Maintain accurate records to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Core Duties
* Report to the Radar Product Safety Manager and carry out product safety engineering activities on assigned projects/products.
* Work on both legacy products and future radar innovations, providing advice and generating safety deliverables.
* Ensure Radar products meet statutory, corporate, and contractual safety requirements.
* Apply your expertise to solve complex engineering challenges and design effective solutions.
* Offer technical guidance on Product Safety to your colleagues.
Essential Skills
* Proven experience as a Product Safety Practitioner in Product/Systems Safety.
* Familiarity with UK MOD defense standards, particularly Def Stan 00-056 & 00-055.
* Experience with safety management processes within Systems Engineering Lifecycles.
* Proficient in Hazard Identification, Analysis, and Risk Assessments.
* Knowledge of managing Hazard Logs and safety arguments.
* Understanding of safety compliance assessments against UK and other legislation.
