Senior Leadership Position - Chemical Manufacturing Site
As a member of the site’s Senior Leadership Team, this position contributes to the overall performance and strategy of the site. This role leads and manages operational performance in one of two production hubs on a high-hazard upper tier COMAH site. The incumbent is responsible for delivering Key Performance Indicators aligned with Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety and Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant EHS policies and procedures. Champion a positive safety culture, demonstrating the right behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, and leading incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. Liaise with authorities like HSE/EA to ensure readiness for inspections and audits.
2. Operational Leadership: Oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets safely and efficiently. Drive continuous improvement in productivity, reliability, and cost control. Manage plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and start-ups in line with safety and operational requirements.
3. People Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and competency. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance through clear expectations, coaching, and development. (25% of time)
4. Strategic & Financial Planning: Contribute to site strategy, budgeting, and capital planning. Monitor and control operational expenditure and support capital projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a high-hazard chemical or process industry.
* Knowledge of COMAH regulations and process safety management.
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent safety qualification (desirable).

* This role is based in a high-risk chemical manufacturing environment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.

* Supervisory responsibilities include managing 8 direct reports and overseeing a total of 72 employees.
